POLIkol 1000PF meets the stringent quality requirements set out in the latest edition of the European Pharmacopoeia, thanks to which it can be classified as a macrogol. Macrogols are the pharmacopoeial name of polyethylene glycols that can be used as ingredients in medicines, ointments, dermocosmetics or other pharmaceutical formulations. Typically, high molecular weight macrogols are found in association with lower molecular weight macrogols. Therefore, high-molecular polyethylene glycols, which are in the form of wax, are combined with liquid low-molecular polyethylene glycols. As a result, a blend with a greasy consistency is obtained.
POLIkol 1000PF is a suitable base for ointments due to its very good dispersing properties and good solubility in water. Due to these features, the product is recommended for combining many active ingredients. In addition, thanks to its high molecular weight, POLIkol 1000 PF can be added to the formulation to improve its final rheological properties (increase in viscosity).
