Potassium hydroxide granules of pharmaceutical quality (Ph.) - the product is a highly corrosive inorganic compound from the group of alkalis. The potassium base is strongly hygroscopic and the dissolution process is exothermic with the release of heat. The product meets the quality requirements specified for pharmaceutical raw materials. It is used in the production of medical devices, medicines and in dermatological cosmetics. In the cosmetics industry it is used for the production of potassium soap and pH regulation.

Potassium hydroxide granules of pharmaceutical quality (Ph.) - it is a very soluble hydroxide with the chemical formula KOH. Potassium base in solid form is used in industry, chemical analytics, pharmaceutical for the preparation of aqueous solutions (e.g. 50%). Potassium hydroxide solutions are also used to adjust the pH. Pharmaceutical potassium hydroxide is used in the technology of producing gels and eye drops with a higher viscosity.

Other uses:

  • Production of medical devices (removal of skin lesions caused by "mollus contagiosum"
  • The aqueous KOH solution absorbs carbon dioxide from the air
  • Diagnosing fungal infections
  • Food industry (pH regulator)
  • In household chemistry, production of cleaning agents and deblocking liquids
  • Production of soft soaps, e.g. "Sapo kalinus"
  • Production of "Soap alcohol" (used in pharmacy recipes)
  • An ingredient of depilatory and hair modeling preparations
  • A component of means for removing cuticles around the nails

Precautionary statements:

P280 Wear protective gloves/protective clothing/eye protection/face protection.
P303 + P361 + P353 IF ON SKIN (or hair): Remove/Take off immediately all contaminated clothing. Rinse skin under running water or shower.
P305 + P351 + P338 IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing.
