Sodium benzoate agricultural silage additive

In agriculture, it is used as a feed additive with anti-mold and anti-fungal properties, interacts with lactic acid bacteria added during pickling. Used in corn pickling, reduces alcoholic fermentation.

Sodium benzoate E211, food preservative, sodium salt of benzoic acid, organic chemical compound. In its natural form, in the form of benzoate anion, it is found in blueberries, cranberries, mushrooms, cinnamon, cloves, and in minimal amounts also in some dairy products. It is used in fruit and vegetable processing; in tinned fish, for the production of sweet carbonated and still drinks, juices, margarines, mayonnaises, cheeses, marinades, all kinds of sauces. In the baking industry, it is used as a malt extract. Sodium benzoate as a preservative is very well absorbed by the digestive system. It is also used as an additive to plastics. It dissolves well in water.
