ROKAnol LK3 - Laureth-3 - CAS 68439-50-9 is mainly used as an intermediate in the production of anionic surfactants from the lauryl ether sulfates group (SLES).

It has the form of a liquid or paste with a color of max. 50 on the Hazen scale at 40°C. ROKAnol® LK3 is poorly soluble in water, in which it forms turbid solutions. The commercial product contains over 99.9% of active substance and solidifies at approx. 5°C. In comparison to other ROKAnol® L series, it is characterized by a relatively low HLB.

In addition to its use in the sulfatation process, ROKAnol® LK3 can be used as a component of cosmetic formulations. In shampoos, shower gels, bath liquids and other washable cosmetics, it acts as a cleansing agent and a rheology modifier (thickening agent). It also has the ability to solubilize a wide range of perfumes and active ingredients.

ROKAnol® LK3 is used in various types of preparations intended for washing, cleaning and laundry. Most often it is one of the ingredients of the composition in combination with other non-ionic, anionic or cationic surfactants. ROKAnol® LK3 can be used in the environment of oxidizing, reducing agents and hard water. It is active in acidic, neutral and diluted alkali baths.

The product is used in the pre-treatment of fibers as a component of the formulation removing oil stains (mineral oils) from fabrics/knitwear, which are the result of industrial knitting and weaving processes. It can also be used in the final stage of processing of textile materials, i.e. in finishing preparations improving the utility properties of fabrics/knitwear.

ROKAnol® LK3 does not exhibit foaming properties, but it is characterized by very good detergent, emulsifying and dispersing properties. It is a product that is biodegradable in the natural environment.
