ROKAnol NL5 is a non-ionic surface active compound of high concentration, belonging to ethoxylated alcohols . Its INCI name is C9-11 Pareth-5. The product belongs to the ROKAnol® NL series manufactured on the basis of synthetic alcohol C9-C11. It contains about 100% active substance.
The high level of surface activity of ROKAnol NL means that these substances are often used in the production of detergents, especially cleaning agents.
ROKAnol® NL5 is a clear, light-coloured liquid at room temperature (max. 70 on the Hazen scale). Its cloud point ranges from 33 to 39°C. The product solidifies at temperatures below 0°C. It has good solubility in water.
ROKAnol® NL5 works effectively in the environment of oxidizing and reducing agents in hard water. Due to its ionic nature, it works well in mixtures with other non-ionic surfactants as well as cationic and anionic ones.
ROKAnol® NL5 has very good wetting properties . This feature has an impact on the high effectiveness of removing dirt from hard surfaces and from fabrics and knits. Therefore, the product works well as a component of weakly alkaline and acidic detergents, including those for professional use.
The product is most often used in cleaning preparations in the presence of a hydrotrope or solvent (e.g. BDG), which improves its stability in mixtures.
Another application of ROKAnol NL5 is the pre-treatment of fibers. The product is perfect for removing oil stains (mineral oils) from fabrics and knits , resulting from knitting and weaving processes.
In addition, the surfactant is an effective component of bleaching compositions for raw knitwear and cotton fabrics . It improves the capillarity of dyes, which increases the efficiency of bleaching in dyeing processes. ROKAnol NL5 is a raw material that meets the requirements of safety standards for textile products set by the Oeko-Tex Standard Association and the ZDHC Program.
ROKAnol NL5 is also an excellent emulsifier used in polyethylene waxes. It acts as a microemulsion stabilizer.
The product is biodegradable and meets the biodegradability criteria established in Regulation (EC) No. 648/2004 on detergents.
